In this talk, we will discuss various interesting properties of invariant foliations for a smooth dynamical system on a compact manifold. These properties can be analytical, geometrical and topological in nature. We will discover how many fields of mathematics come together and become useful in our study of dynamical systems. The main objects of the talk are partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms and symplectic diffeomorphisms.
