Lecture 2 : The multitype case.
We present a special coding for multitype trees which extends the breadth first search algorithm for single type trees. Then we show an extension of the ballot theorem for multivariate random walks and we derive from this result the law of the total population of multitype branching trees jointly with the number of different families.
