There are two classes of algebraic nonlinear eigenvalue problems, namely eigenvalue nonlinearities and eigenvector nonlinearities. In this talk, we discuss some recent progress in theory and algorithm for solving these two classes of nonlinear eigenvalue problems and show few applications arising from electronic structure calculations to data science.
