This talk aims to give an introduction of the deformation theory of toric varieties which has been developed by K. Altmann, A. Mavlyutov, N. Ilten and R. Vollmert et al. In the first half of the talk, we discuss an example (the Mukai-Umemura 3-fold like) of toric cscK surfaces and its deformations described by Y. Rollin and C. Tipler. Later on, we will likely to consider how to con- struct the total space of deformations of compact toric varieties via Minkowski sum decompositions of polyhedral complexes. Throughout the talk, we put emphasis on concrete examples and explicit descriptions to make an understanding of these topics
