Abstract：In his ICM talk in 1950, Hodge asked the question of which cohomology classes of an algebraic variety come from algebraic cycles, which is later referred to as the Hodge conjecture. Nowadays the conjecture is stated with respect to rational cohomology classes, since the original version of Hodge with integral cohomology is known to be false. However, in recent years, a new interest of the integral version arises, because of its close connection to the geometry of the variety. In this talk I will discuss some aspects of this integral Hodge conjecture.
