The theory of Shimura varieties plays the central role in modern theory of automorphic forms and number theory. 背景材料:Professor Takayuki Oda works on automorphic forms, number theory, representation theory and algebraic geometry. His work on periods of Hilbert modular surfaces is fundamental in arithmetic geometry, such as motives, Tate conjecture and Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture for elliptic curves over real quadratic fields.
