Studying singularity is a central topic in algebraic geometry. In this colloquium, we will survey some recent results on the topology and geometry of singularities on complex analytic spaces. They are achieved by systematically applying minimal model program and combining with other machineries, e.g., stratified Morse theory, stability theory etc..
