Parking Functions are colorful combinatorial constructs introduced by Computer Scientists and independently discovered (1966) by Probabilists (1969) but not by that name. Diagonal Harmonics are more recent (1990), their definition is quite elementary, they are the polynomials in $xon;yon$ that are killed by all the differential operators $sum_{i=1}^ndel_{x_i}^rdel_{y_i}^s$. What is fascinating is that almost every algebraic construct emerging from this space has an associated conjecture relating it to well known combinatorial structures. In this lecture we discuss some conjectures relating Diagonal Harmonics to Parking Functions. The talk requires no prerequisites beyond undergraduate math.
