Contrary to the general feelings of experts, new families of almost-complex homogeneous manifolds have been found recently (by K.H. Lee); these manifolds are complete Kobayashi hyperbolic, and so it is related in spirit to the classical Cartan\'s bounded symmetric domains. I would like to give an introduction to their construction and furthermore to discuss a differential geometric study of this family of examples, recently done by Y.J. Choi.
