Introduction:Professor Peter Deuflhard is a world famous applied mathematician. He is the founder of the ZIB institute in Freie University Berlin and Co-founder of DFG Research Center MATHEON. He is the recipient of many awards like Damkohler Medal, ICIAM Maxwell prize etc. He was elected as the SIAM fellow and member of the European Academy of Sciences.
