In this talk, the subject of purposefully generating chaos (also called chaotification) is introduced, which refers to making a non-chaotic dynamical system chaotic or enhancing the existing chaos of a chaotic system. Only discrete chaos in the sense of Devaney, Wiggins and Li-Yorke, in both finite-dimensional and infinite-dimensional spaces, will be discussed. The main approach is to employ the classical feedback control theory, under precise and rigorous mathematical criteria.
