Symplectic Blenders near Whiskered Tori

Abstract: A blender is a hyperbolic basic set such that non-transverse intersections with its invariant manifolds can be unremovable by small perturbations. In this talk, we consider blenders in the symplectic setting and show that, under certain generic conditions, symplectic blenders exist arbitrarily close to any whiskered torus having homoclinic tangencies.
