Abstract:
Collapsed Anosov flows is a class of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in 3-manifolds that includes all known examples in sufficiently large 3-manifolds (those whose fundamental group which is not virtually solvable). In the talk I will try to motivate the problem of classification of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in 3-manifolds, its links to Anosov flows and give a description of this class as well as some taste of the results that make the class look appropriate for the classification problem.
Bio:
Professor Rafael Potrie, who obtained his PhD from Université de Paris XIII (Paris-Nord, France) and Universidad de la República (Uruguay) in 2012, is one of the leading young mathematicians in dynamical systems.
His research focuses on classifications of partially hyperbolic dynamics, stable ergodicity conjecture, robust dynamics and foliation theory. Due to his great contributions, Rafael Potrie was invited to give an ICM talk in Rio de Janeiro 2018.
